・The hardest part of filmmaking is preserving the initial impression and feeling of the idea. When that first impression starts to shift and head in a different direction, you need the courage to stop production.
・If you want to make films, watch as many films as possible. You should watch bad movies too – in fact, you should watch bad movies specifically. It will encourage you, at least, to think you can make something better.
・Even if it’s just a three-minute film, the first step is to make one movie. Through that single project, you can learn every aspect of filmmaking from scriptwriting and cinematography to editing and even taxes.
・Without me, nothing gets edited. I mark each frame, select each fragment, and do everything exactly the way I want to. Writing the script, shooting, and editing are what a director must do to make a film.
・Films do not reflect reality, they reflect cinematic reality.
